Remember reading a previous post of mine of my sweet friend Vicki? Well, her daughter and my baby girl are best friends too! I snagged this picture from one of their facebook pages. They just spent a few days together at our church Camp Meeting. I love these beautiful girls!

Little things I do to escape the destruction/construction

Destruction has happened in our master bedroom, bath and closet and we are now on to the construction part. I say we, it has mostly been my hubby. That man can do anything! He is a magician in the construction world! I took a few before pictures but I don't know if I will have enough nerve to post them. Anyway, we are now in the painting stage. Our living and sleeping arrangements are a bit crazy as all of our "stuff" is in the living room and dining room and wherever else I could put things. When I get tired of looking at the chaos of it all I go outside and take pictures of other stuff. heehee!

Hoping to bring a smile today!

Her favorite flower is a daisy. I don't grow daisies. I grow sunflowers and that is what I am sharing today. I hope it brings her a smile.

Connie and I grew up together. We are first cousins. I can't remember a time when she was not a part of my life in some way. I am 6 weeks older than her. When we were children people thought we were twins. As teenagers, we lived across the street from each other, went to the same school, had the same friends. Later, we went our separate ways yet we stayed in touch somewhat.

Here she is with her three beautiful daughters awaiting her first grandchild. A little boy. You reckon she's happy about that?

She was recently diagnosed with a serious health condition that could cause her to not feel so well a lot of times. She needs to feel good so she can keep up with that little grandson.

Ants and an "Awesome" solution

The ants go marching one by one...hurrah, hurrah!! Heehee...sorry :)
I don't know about everyone else but we have lots of ants coming in the house (mostly the kitchen) since we have been getting all this rain. There's not much one can do to keep them out but I thoroughly enjoy watching them die when I give them a little spray of Awesome! Ever heard of it? It is a great degreaser type cleaner that Dollar Tree sells. It is the best stuff! Anyway, when my countertop is covered with ants I spray them down and they die right on the spot. I know, I am pretty pathetic and probably need another hobby or something. This rain really is driving me crazy!

Fresh flower bouquet

My first fresh flower bouquet of the summer. The rain has really put a damper on my flower and rose production. I'm thankful for what I get though.

I made good use of this stump and planted Jack Be Little pumpkin seeds in it along with some coleus and cockscomb. I love the orange star-shaped blooms!

First sunflower bloom this year. Love it!

He does all the outdoor work and I can and freeze what we don't eat fresh. So good!
