My $10 China Hutch

I am almost positive that I had before pictures of this china hutch but I could not find them. Anyway, it was that traditional maple color. It is missing the glass on each side of the top cabinet door. I'm thinking of replacing it with some type of wire screen. Not sure yet.
I painted it a creamy white then sort of randomly painted it with an antique white then distressed it with sandpaper. I am very happy with the way it turned out. ;)

garden shoes

DO NOT! I Repeat, do not judge me about the 80's flooring!
Just look at the shoes! So cute and functional. I can get them all dirty and then wash them off with the water hose and let em' dry. Downside is the fact that when my feet get the least bit "sweaty" these shoes make a "farty" sound with each step I take. "Ooooops! Excuse me!" heehee

Thrift store find: I can hardly resist a rooster. This one is about 10" tall. He is a smart lookin' bird, huh?

Thrift store find: Another favorite that I can't pass up... Haeger ceramic vase

Thrift store find: This large picnic basket for $5! Of course my oldest daughter sees it and here's how it goes..."Mom, where did you get that? I have been looking everywhere for one of those even Ebay. Can I have it?"
She never told me that she was looking for a picnic basket. Never ever! haha!

Thrift store find: Lace tablecloth in perfect condition. Gorgeous!

Monday and Tuesday of this week Baby Girl was off work so naturally she wanted me to "help" her paint her room. We painted...and painted...and painted. Wednesday I told her I needed a fix. Yep, I needed to visit the thrift store. I'm a total sicko. Anyway, I found some great things and passed up a lot of great things which meant...I went back early Thursday morning and picked those great things that I didn't get Wednesday. I told you I was messed up. haha!

Oh,oh, oh!! I almost forgot to mention the china hutch that I bought for (drumroll, please) $9.98! Before and after pics of it later.

My latest graduate

That's my boy! I don't believe I have ever seen a more excited graduate. He received his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from TCC last Friday night.
Way to go, Zack!

My Mother's Day weekend

My first yellow rose from my climbing rose bush that I named Ruth after my aunt Wilma Ruth.

I am not sure how old this clematis is. It was already here when we moved in almost 3 years ago. I trimmed it up a bit and ran some jute string for it to climb. It will bloom all summer if I keep it watered. I think it is so lovely.

My oldest daughter bought me this birdhouse for Mother's day. So cute!

I have been waiting for this climbing rose bush to bloom for three years. Such pretty red roses! Is that you, Henny Penny?

My one and only peony. It is so gorgeous! The rain was making it droop down and I was afraid it would break or get muddy so I cut it and put it in a vase.This way I can enjoy it more.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. My youngest daughter bought me a glass dome pedestal cake plate and some new bake ware (which I desperately needed). And I was so excited when hubby gave me a purple wisteria vine! We sat it out by our entry gate that he is putting up. I love wisteria and wanted one for the longest! My son Zack bought me some Republic for Women cologne from Banana Republic and some Lindt's Dark Chocolate. mmm hmmm... My best gift was having my boys in church with me on Mother's Day.

I hit the mother-load in my sisters barn...

My sister's in-laws actually used this insulated galvanized milk box back in the 50's. The inside is damaged. I am thinking of setting it on my front porch and using it as a planter.

Look at all this galvanized "stuff"! I have so many ideas on how to use each piece.
I just need to get busy and do it!

My sister gave me an old FREE sewing machine and stand a few weeks ago. The cabinet and machine was totally ruined from years of sitting outside in the weather. I painted the metal stand and set it in my flower bed.
